Day 106

Time I left home:

I thought today was going to be one of those days where everything seems to be going in slow-motion.  As usual, the morning wake-up was difficult.   I got myself together quickly though and was out the door before I realized it...I even remembered my running shoes!  I had a multigrain bagel with whipped cream cheese and coffee on my drive.  The drive (and breakfast) was surprisingly good for a Tuesday.  I think everyone is looking forward to the warm weather...I am not.  It's January...we are supposed to be dealing with snow!  Man, we're in trouble.  The Earth is going to fight back soon...

Day 105

Time I left home:

Smooth sailing on the beltway today.  There was a big accident on the outer loop, but not on the inner, so I was only stopped for a little bit.  I had raisin bran at home and it was delicious.  Overall, nice day...sunny, pretty, good start, relaxing night and hopefully, good day.

Day 104

Time I left home:
Rainy Friday...left a little later to try to not deal with too much traffic.  It worked and I got to work without too much trouble.  I had a half bagel with egg and cheddar cheese.

Time I got to work: 9:00 a.m.

Day 103

Time I left home:
Working late tonight, so I came in a little bit later than usual today.  That was nice.  The drive was good, although a bit more crowded than I expected.  I got caught behind some school buses too...I also forgot to take an arrival picture.  Oh well...happy rainy Thursday!

Time I arrived at work: 9:32 a.m.

Day 102

Time I left home:

The car was more frosty than I expected this morning, so it took a little while to defrost.  I packed my lunch, made breakfast, and got in the car for a lovely drive.

I thought this bagel was raisin and it turns out it was chocolate chip.  There's nothing worse than eating a bagel with chocolate in it (I know...sorry chocolate freaks).  Gross.  I ate it anyway because it was better than stopping at McDonald's or another place...I guess.  I need more coffee to take away the flavor.  Yuck!

Time I got to work (9:02...sun glare):

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Day 101

Time I left home:

Back to the normal grind of the commute, along with everyone else in the world.  The change in weather was remarkable this morning...sunny, foggy, rainy, and a variety of other things.  Those of us driving had to use our brakes quite a lot.  Also, the exit ramp was stopped up...an accident was blocking the entry onto the road.

Time I got to work:

Monday, January 23, 2012

DAY 100!!!

What a way to commute on my 100th day!  Here goes...

I left home at:

Yep... a.m. again :>  I stopped and got breakfast bagels and coffee for orientation from Einstein's in Towson, dropped them off in the academic building, and then parked my car.  I then ran to my office, dropped off my bags, and headed upstairs to the work room to help students blow up balloons.  We delivered the balloons around the main part of campus to help direct students to sessions and then we got to eat the bagels, drink coffee, and talk while we waited for everything to get started.  Ah, the start of the semester.

Time I parked my car at work:

Day Ninety-Nine

Time I left home:

This is all a.m. time...Just in case you weren't clear about that.  It was dark when I left my house and headed to Dunkin' Donuts to pick up the coffee to compliment the pancakes my co-worker friend made for the students this morning for breakfast.  They were delicious!

Long day today...mostly trouble-shooting and preparing for presenting tonight and then an even earlier day tomorrow.  Good times.  Hope your Sunday is lovely.

The commute was brilliant today...barely anyone around and the beltway wasn't covered in ice. Nice.

Time I got to work:

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Day Ninety-Eight

Time I left home:

The start of the semester means commuting on the weekends.  We are doing a small training tonight and then the fun will start bright and early tomorrow.  You'll get to see that.  I did enjoy my coffee on my drive today.  Deserved after a bit of shoveling ice away from my car and house. Felt like I was living in the mountains again.  Oh, I got gas today too.  Good stuff.

Time I arrived at work:

Friday, January 20, 2012

Day Ninety-Seven

Time I left home:
I don't feel well today.  I slept a bit more than I usually do and tried to be able to breath through my nose without too much of a problem.  The shower helped.  I am not 100% for sure.

My breakfast was simple...plain bagel with butter.  I couldn't really taste it.

Traffic was great because I left so late.  I hope to feel back to my usual self soon.

Day Ninety-Six

Time I left home:

Wow, the sun glare is bad in this picture.  That says 8:14 a.m. just so you know.  I didn't make breakfast at home this morning because I had a breakfast meeting for work with a student and co-worker.  Towson's Hot Bagels.  Yum!  Traffic was nice and I'm being more aware of my speed...dumb construction zones caught me and now I have to pay.

Time I got to work:

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Day Ninety-Four

Time I left home:

I feel really good about my drive today.  Nothing really exciting happened and yet, it was quite nice.  I had a green machine Naked drink this morning on my drive and cruised along at a nice speed.  The radio DJs were clever and I enjoyed the music they played this morning.  All-in-all, a good day.

Day Ninety-Four

Time I left home:

I was running late this morning...hard to get going after a long weekend away from work and I had a meeting starting at 9...You'll see that I cut it close this morning.  I had a Naked Berry drink for breakfast...easy, portable, and quite yummy.  Here's to waking up a bit earlier tomorrow.

Day Ninety-Three

The semester is getting ready to pick up, so my commuting has been a bit strange.  I had an all day retreat at a colleagues house, so I wasn't able to post.  I left my house at:
I arrived there right before 9, in enough time to pick up food from the car and help get things ready.  We had homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  Yum!

Today, I left home at:

I left a bit early because we were taking a Master Bikram class and we knew it was going to be crowded.  I met up with my co-workers and away we went.  The class kicked our butts and was really good.  I had an english muffin breakfast sandwich on the road for my protein needs.  Woosh...it's been a whirlwind Friday.

Time I arrived at work:

Day Ninety-Two

For work, we went on a fun outing to DC...my commuting experience yesterday was as follows...

Time I left home:

Time I arrived at Penn Station after parking and what not...I had two eggs for breakfast after a nice workout...it was good to be able to leave a little later.

This is the time we left Penn Station for Union Station:

We arrived at 11:45 or so, just in time to be able to walk a little ways to The Monocle where we enjoyed a three-course lunch for DC Restaurant week.  YUM!  So good.  Then we went to a variety of museums where I found some pictures to hang in my living room as an art project.  Yay me.

Today, I left my house at:
I recreated the breakfast sandwich on ciabatta for my eating enjoyment and it was good.  Back to a regular work day today.  Good times had by all.  The commute was lovely and not too many people on the road.  I found it a bit strange...

Time I arrived at work:

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day Ninety-One

Time I left home:

It's Monday and I had a hard time getting out of bed.  My students aren't really around, so I don't feel like I have to be that consistent in my arrival time...I'll make up for it once the semester starts.  Had a very nice weekend...the work week has come upon me too soon.  That's just how life is.

Yep, that's a breakfast sandwich on challah.  Holla!  I think I need to cut the slices thinner next time...so good though.

Traffic was nice because it was so late in the morning when I left.  It's nice when commuting feels the length it's supposed to be based on miles and minutes and all that good stuff.  Can't beat that feeling.

Day Ninety

Time I left home:

Another Friday of work and another day of Bikram.  I haven't done a class since last year (ha ha) and I was feeling a bit hesitant and nervous about going back.  I have been having those feelings a lot lately...in any case, the commute was filled with those thoughts and my delicious breakfast sandwich, and before I knew it, I was at work.  Good times.  Bikram was great and I felt very strong.  A good reminder for me to believe in myself.

Day Eighty-Nine

Time I left home:

What a low-key day I'm having today...so nice.  I feel like that means that something is going to go wrong soon.  I hope not...I really like having these nice commuting experiences.

Went back to the breakfast sandwich with an english muffin...nicer on my mouth and just as yummy.  I took this picture while I was stopped at a traffic light.  I was hoping to catch the steam coming off it.  I don't think I did though.

There was this car from Virginia that would not get out of the left lane today!  I mean really, I used to live in VA...most of those people know how to drive correctly.  If you keep getting passed on the right, get out of the left lane!

Day Eighty-Eight

Time I left home:

I actually left earlier than the clock shows...I left my phone at home and was halfway out of my neighborhood when I realized it.  So...I went back.  There were workers putting new lines in through our yards today...I got distracted because all I could think about were my flowers and plants that I worked so hard to plant.  Oh well...they seemed to be careful going around them.  Thank goodness I haven't mulched yet.

Hmmm...look at that breakfast sandwich...eggs, muenster cheese, french bread.  So good that I have little baby cuts all over my lips.  Worth it.

Commute was very nice again.  The direct TV van was fairly obnoxious...slowing down around the curves and speeding super fast down the straight-aways.  That's it.  Fairly boring, which I appreciate.  They played the Cupid Shuffle on the radio this morning for a women being induced...it was a nice way to end my commute.

Time I got to work:

Day Eighty-Seven

Time I left home:

I went for the artsy angle so you can see my coffee there in the cup holder.  Yep, got me some dairy last night after work...hmmm, coffee.

Hidden underneath the paper towel and over the movie, is my breakfast sandwich.  One egg, muenster cheese, and a light english muffin.  DELICIOUS!!  You know, however, when you are making fried eggs and sometimes it's hard to tell if the yolk is cooked through...well, that was me this morning.  I thought I had checked it and, while it's still a little runny (cuz I like it that way), it wouldn't be so bad.  WRONG.  I bit into the sandwich and the next thing I know, I'm covered in yolk from scarf to seatbelt.  Ugh.  Luckily, I have a variety of napkins in my car from other days and was able to clean up a bit...there's still quite a lot of yolk on my scarf though.

All that being said, the commute was lovely today.  We got stopped around the 83s because of an accident...it lasted about 2 minutes.  Yes, I must say...gotta love the beginning of January.

Day Eighty-Six

Time I left home:

It's a new year!  It's a federal holiday! It's a beautiful commuting world out there people.  It probably also helps that I left my house quite late and decided to take my time in getting back to a bit of working reality.

New for 2012...I'll be talking about my breakfast as a nice portion of my commute, by request of my adoring fans out there.  This morning, as you can see, I had a delicious peanut nature valley bar.  Yum.  I do love peanut butter.  I didn't buy any dairy products, so no coffee for me, because without the milk or cream, my stomach lining gets destroyed...I can actually feel it melting away.  I do have a mango naked juice in that lunch bag, which I still haven't had yet.  I like the bars because they are easy to eat in the car.  I do miss having my eggs though.  Perhaps they will return tomorrow...you'll just have to wait and see.
