Day Sixteen
Time I left home: Time I arrived at work: 9:14 a.m. I stopped for some McDonald's breakfast today...my last day of official orientation events and the start of a new month. This is what happens when you don't go to the grocery store for three weeks! Besides, I've been getting all my meals through work because of the funky hours I'm keeping. Nothing like a hash brown in the morning to make you feel good about your day.

Day Fifteen
Time I left home:
I once again forgot to take my arrival picture...sigh. I arrived at 9:12 a.m. today because of accidents and lost power and a world of other things. All of that made me late for my meeting that started at 9 a.m. so I had to hightail it to the opposite side of campus. I parked in my usual spot because I'm at work until at least 10 p.m. tonight...at least I'll get some ice cream out of it.

Day Fourteen
Before I get to my Monday commute, here's a recap of the weekend. I left my house at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and didn't get back home until 7:30 p.m. Sunday night. Yep...not many jobs out there where you get to sleep at work. My residence life colleagues know this only too well. Been there, my friends.
We ran almost all the orientation events this weekend and through a dance during the hurricane. Students loved it and we only lost power for about 3 minutes. The orientation gods were with me.

Day Thirteen
Time I left home:
Time I arrived at work: about 40 minutes later. I didn't take a picture because it is orientation time and I was busy worrying about a hurricane that was supposed to hit MD. Good times. I got home around 12:30 a.m. this night...how's that for a work day?

Day Twelve
Time I left campus:
Time I made it back to work after picking up the breakfast for my staff:
Wow...you say? How is that possible and why on earth did you sleep at work? Well, my good friend and co-worker let me stay in her on-campus apartment so I wouldn't have to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to get to campus with breakfast for my staff. And I got to witness the biggest rampage for ponchos ever. Best sleepover ever.

Day Ten
Time I left home:
It's orientation time at my place of work, which means crazy hours for me. You don't event want to know what time I got home...

Time I arrived at work:
Here's what I like about today...I stopped for gas on my way and this allowed me to leave my house and arrive at work at times that end in a zero. That's fun.

Day Seven
Time I left home:
Alas, I didn't take a picture of the time I got to work because I had to pick up breakfast (bagels and coffee) for my staff so we could welcome some of our new and returing students today. I believe it was around 7:25 or so. In any case, the breakfast was good and my staff did a fabulous job welcoming the students. Yay new school year.

Day Six
Time I left home:
Nothing really exciting happened today on my way to work...which is actually nice considering this is my last day before I start working nutty hours and the time I leave my house gets to be scary...perhaps even before the sun comes up. I realize that people do that every day, but I try really hard not to...I like the sun to help me get up. I don't like getting up before the sun because I feel like that isn't natural. I guess sometimes you can't help it.
Time I arrived at work:
That says 8:35 a.m. by the way. Not a good picture today...I was a bit tired and missed the "dishing the dirt" segment on the radio, so I feel a bit out of the loop. Make it a good day.

Day Five
Time left home:
Time arrived at work:
I was one of the first cars in the parking lot this morning. One of my supervisors was here first and then there were literally only 3 other cars here. That's amazing stuff people. Amazing.

Day Four
Time I left home:
Time I got to work:
Here's what is miraculous about getting to work in this amount of time. There was a ridiculous amount of rain about 3 miles north of my house! Seriously. It was thundering and pouring rain at my house and I thought...oh boy, 2-hour commute, here I come. So I pack Harry Potter Book 7 in my bag, just in case I get bored of the radio, make a double-dose of coffee and head out the door. It was downpouring the entire way to the beltway and then all of a sudden, around exit 12, the rain just stopped. Stopped! Nothing. The whole rest of the way and I couldn't believe it. I was just trying to get to work as fast as I could before the rain caught up to me.
I thought everyone else was too...except for the Acura in front of me. Oh, don't get me wrong, that car was driving fast too, until the person did a classic "Maryland driving technique"...drive as fast as you can when the road is straight and then as soon as a curve hits: SLOW DOWN! Literally, this person was going about 80 MPH on the straight roads and went down to 60 on the curves. I just don't understand. So, I passed the car and went about my way. Good times.

Day Three
Time I left the house:
It's garbage day and instead of prepping everything the night before, I did it all this morning. Not smart. What can you do?I did make cheesey eggs for breakfast though and they were delish!
Sometimes, to pass the time in the car, I play a game to see how many cars I can pass. Probably not the safest game to play, but you know...it's fun. I passed 20 trucks today, including semi-trucks, garbage trucks, maintenance trucks, and a microbrew truck.
Around exit 14, a van decided to try to take up two lanes as we curved to the right. I had to use my horn.
Arrived at work:

Day Two
Time I left home:
Time I arrived at work:
Had to stop for gas today, so made the executive decision to leave the house a bit early...it is the last week of summer afterall, so I tend to have a shorter commute. My gas tank is only 11 gallons, so this is pretty good timing for my old car.
I had the breakfast of champions (oatmeal and coffee with half and half) in the car today...yum.
Time I arrived at work:
In other news: I'm having Subway for lunch. Jealous, aren't ya?

Day One
Time left house:
I ate breakfast at home today...amazing.
Then...an accident was announced on the radio and I was stuck on the beltway near exit 20 when I get a happy text from my co-worker "stopping by dunkin' donuts...want anything". Yes, dear co-worker, yes.
Time arrived at work:
"Rolling in the Deep" was on the radio and I arrived just in time to enjoy my gift...
