Day Thirty-Six

Time I left home:

Made a delicious breakfast sandwich for the drive to work today and enjoyed a sort-of-less-traffic-day than usual, which is nice.  The clouds look like they are going to break open and rain like there's no tomorrow again.  Here's hoping it doesn't get too bad for the drive home.

Day Thirty-Five

Time I left home:

Ahhh, Tuesday.  Foggy and weird rain and lots of fun on the beltway.  I was moving along slowly in the traffic I always have when around exit 25 a white car, didn't see the make, decided he/she was more important than all the rest of us in the real lanes and sped past all of us in the shoulder.  Really?  I mean, really?  All I could think was "I hope that person crashes or gets caught by the police in the construction".  I can be mean sometimes.

Day Thirty-Four

Time I left home:

Do you ever have those mornings when you wake up to your alarm and you keep snoozing and snoozing only to find that you are getting up at the same time you usually do and leaving the house at the same time?  Well, that was me this morning.  I felt like the 9 minutes of snoozing I was doing throughout the morning felt like hours and while I'm still really exhausted (from the funeral and travel this weekend) I am also surprisingly awake.

Time I got to work:

Friday, September 23, 2011

Day Thirty-Three

Time I left home:

It was super foggy on the beltway today. Quite remarkable for this time of the day.  I was driving along when a little Audi quickly jumped in front of me.  The license plate was "RAUDI".  Things that make you go Hmmmm....

Time I got to work:

Day Thirty-Two

Time I left home:

It's raining again today...people were actually really great on the beltway.

It's been an interesting week.  I found out that grandpa died Tuesday night and so driving to work has made my brain go into overload as I'm trying to figure out arrangements for going to the funeral and making sure I take care of everything for the weekend I'll be away unexpectedly.  Makes the commute go fairly fast even when it takes the same amount of time every week...

Day Thirty-One

 Time I left home:

Wednesdays are good days.  I don't feel stressed to have to be at work at 9 because my first meeting is usually at 10 and I get to feel like time isn't going so fast while I'm driving to work.  For some reason, I always seem to have better luck on the beltway on Wednesdays compared to Tuesdays...why is that world?  Does anyone know?

Day Thirty

Time I left home:

It never fails!  Ever time I leave home on a Tuesday, it takes forever to get to work.  This time it was rain and lots of stop-and-go.  Other than that, nothing too exciting.  I did get to hear about the radio DJ's wedding on the air this morning, that was fun.  I also had Vanilla Greek yogurt with granola on my drive.  Delish.

Monday, September 19, 2011

Day Twenty-Nine

Time I left home:

Today's commute was really nice.  Not too many people on the road.  I'm still trying to figure out why.

Time I arrived at work:

Friday, September 16, 2011

Day Twenty-Eight

Time I left home:
I arrive to work at 9:06 a.m. I accomplished one of the worst parking jobs in my life.  Oh well...at least it's Friday!

Day Twenty-Seven

Today I am going to provide a little insight into what it means to work at a College and what our hours can be on a more-than-we'd-always-like basis:

LAST NIGHT, I left my house at:

I arrived back to work at:

I got home around 11 p.m. last night.  So, this morning I had to leave my house at:

Day Twenty-Six

Time I left home:

I was cruising along until exit 20 and then we all stopped.  An hour later I arrive at work:
Just another Wednesday...

Day Twenty-Five

Time I left home:

That's supposed to be an "8" in front of the "07", in case you were wondering.  I tried to leave a bit early today because it's a Tuesday and for some reason, Tuesdays are worse traffic days than Mondays or almost any other day of the week.  I think it's because we are so aware of Monday and being out of practice on our commute, that we are overly worried about accidents.  Tuesdays, however, we take for granted because it's the second day we've commuted and we're experts again.  There's always more silliness taking place on Tuesdays.  Overall, not a bad commute.  It still caused me to be late to my 9 a.m. meeting...

Time I arrived at the parking lot:

Day Twenty-Four

Time I left home:

It was one of those days that I got really excited when I have space on the highway and I can drive really fast and then I immediately have to stop and go "ugh".  I did that a lot today and I got tricked every time.

Time I got to work:

Friday, September 9, 2011

Day Twenty-Three

Time I left home:

Nothing really exciting except I was in the car to hear the Cupid Shuffle played on the radio.  Always makes me smile.  Nice work, radio people.

Time I arrived at work:

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Day Twenty-Two

Time I left home:

I thought I was being smart today by leaving my house a little later than usual.  I thought, with two tropical storms invading the east coast and all this rain, perhaps people would leave earlier than later and traffic wouldn't be so bad.  I was wrong.  Once I came upon the beltway, the usual traffic hit me and it still took just as long to get to work.  Good thing I worked so many hours the past couple weeks that I have some time owed me.  ha ha ha  Here's to no road closures on my way home tonight.

Day Twenty-One

Time I left home:

Rain, Rain, all the time...makes my drive not so fun.

Just another rainy Tuesday...Ooohh...traffic is sucky...ooohh...wish it were Sunday...ooohh, cuz that's my fun day.

Time I arrived at work:

Monday, September 5, 2011

Day Nineteen

Time I left home:
Nothing like going to work on Labor Day...traveling on the beltway was lovely.

Time I got to work:

Friday, September 2, 2011

Day Eighteen

Time I left home:

Another morning off and this time I took full advantage.  Nothing like sleeping through rain and thunder that you would normally be driving to work in during the morning commute.

Time I arrived at work:

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Day Seventeen

Time I left home:

I actually got home last night before 8 p.m. and got to take this morning off.  Yes, that's right.  I left my house at 11:27 a.m. Yay me.  The commute was glorious and only a few stupid errors in judgement of people, mainly on the exit ramp to work.

Time I got to work:
